Dana Brewer-Plazinic
- Dana Brewer-Plazinic has been training individuals for 30 years using her background in Dance, Anatomy and Kinesiology, Injury Prevention and Care, and her training in Pilates and Yoga. She has a B.A. and an M.F.A. in Dance, a STOTT Pilates Certification, and is Certified in SmartFLOW Yoga. She has studied the field of Somatics extensively. Using all of these resources, she creates an exercise prescription for the individual based on the condition of the client-current and previous injuries, aches and pains, muscular and structural imbalances, and postural and alignment issues. Dana taught Dance at Southeastern Louisiana University for 18 years and was the Dance Coordinator there for 9 of those years. She then directed the Dance Program at Lusher Charter School-Lower School Campus for 5 years and in 2017, retired from teaching Dance to open her own Fitness Studio. She began teaching Pilates in 1996 while teaching Dance at Southeastern and worked as a fitness instructor at several Health Clubs including North Oaks in Hammond and the Covington YMCA. She also taught at several dance studios in Hammond, Ponchatoula, Covington, and Mandeville over the past 30 years. She continues to be commissioned to teach Master Classes and Workshops in Dance and Fitness in the area.
